Selection criteria

Each artist will devise his/her own working process in relation to the needs of The Art Room. The artist will receive support from two trained Art Room therapists throughout the residency. The therapists will help with the workshops working under the guidance of the artist.

The workshops may be perceived as research towards the production of the finished work, or the work produced in collaboration with the children may become central to the final work itself.

The artist is expected to produce a finished artwork for permanent public display. This may be for the school that The Art Room is situated in or within the community. The installation can be either for an interior or exterior venue.

Please note that The Art Room is unable to provide studio accommodation and it will be the artist's responsibility to make arrangements for such a facility if required.

The selection of the artist will be made on the following criteria:

• Relevant previous experience.
• Strength of the proposal put forward.
• The proposed working process/media.
• Examples of previous work and the suitability of the proposed work for public display.

The appointed artist will need to have up-to-date clearance from the Criminal Record Bureau.
